We are delighted to announce that Swiss Re has renewed its sponsorship with The Digital Insurer for a second year. Swiss Re will continue to be the primary sponsor for The Digital Insurance
Library and we will also be working with Swiss Re to publish new content over the coming year.
With our announcement last quarter of KPMG ‘s sponsorship for Digital Insurance in Action, we are really pleased to have a total of 4 sponsors on board who allow us to continue to produce free and high value content to our subscribers. In addition to Swiss Re and KPMG, we have Clicks2Customers and eBaoTech supporting our cause to promote digital
thinking in the insurance industry.
In addition to sponsors, we have also started to form collaborative partnerships with some Media Partners. Last month, we announced our new partnership with IDC Financial Insights. As part of our collaboration with IDC Financial Insights, we have secured a 20% discount for The Digital Insurer’s subscribers on IDC’s most recent and prominent Thought Leadership reports. You can view these here.
We also have a partnership with Asia Insurance Review
and similar to IDC, we have negotiated exclusive rates for some of AIR’s publications. You can view all our discounted publications here.
New monthly Digital Insurance in Action newsletter
We have been releasing lots of new content in our Digital Insurance in Action section over the past month which culminated in a monthly newsletter. The newsletter contains three InView video casts on the theme of aggregators and six new global snippets, including a snippet of the month on Beam Technologies’ toothbrush and dental insurance plan. We will be following the same format most months and will be releasing our new InView video casts on the theme of Telematics for the car during the course of October.
Digital Marketing in Insurance - Digital strategy & objectives masterclass

Mobile First: A review of 3 tactical options for the insurance industry
Our latest guest article is called "Mobile First: A review of 3 tactical options for the insurance industry" by
guest author Michael O'Dwyer, In this article, Michael discusses 3 features of smart phones and tablets (Click To Call, Tablet Toolkits, Always On Capability) that insurers can deploy to help forge more direct and more meaningful relationships with consumers.
Global content pillars - "In Action" and "Library" content service
With Swiss Re’s renewal of their sponsorship of the Digital Insurance Library and with KPMG’s sponsorship of our new Digital Insurance in Action section we have in place the capabilities and support to continue to generate reviews on thought leaders in digital
insurance as well as report on the new innovations that are occurring around the world.
Our sponsors are themselves global thought leaders and both have launched interesting reports in the last quarter with implications for digital insurance.
Swiss Re’s updated report on the Protection Gap in insurance highlights how existing distribution channels and products do not meet all of the potential demand for life insurance - we will be doing an article
next quarter on how digital insurance can help.
KPMG’s report and survey on the Insurance Innovation Imperative highlights how our industry has recognised
the urgent need for innovation and provides some great case studies of companies around the world who are leading by example. We will be reviewing the report in the October edition of the Library as well as presenting the findings and content in more detail over the next few months. We are also in the early stages of planning a webinar for November on Innovation for large insurance companies.
To reflect the
growing amount of content we have on the site we have upgraded our search capabilities to allow visitors to find what they are looking for more easily. In addition to the overall site search you can also search The Library and In Action sections using the “smart search” functions that allow searches by specific criteria - search the library or search In Action.
I really enjoyed participating in the Digital Insurance in Africa summit - you can review some of the materials here. I shared my view on the potential for digital in Africa in this article.
From the articles you will see we have just completed our first In Action webinar on Insurance Aggregators in Asia and the recording is
available. Thanks to Gerald Eder and Andre Hesselink from Compare Asia and Go Bear respectively for their presentations and panel participation as well as to Simon Phipps from KPMG for his excellent moderation of the session. Also to the "production team" who do more work behind the scenes then is perhaps realised.
Our next webinar is on telematics for the car and you can register here. You will see that each webinar has some supporting background articles.
