There has been a lot of interest in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) insurance models recently, especially with the launch of the much anticipated Lemonade last September.  What has become clear is that there are many 'flavours' of the P2P model and interestingly, Lemonade even recently dropped their P2P label according to their blog because they felt the term was confusing. Bought by Many, often get labeled as P2P and it's a term they always vehemently oppose! What IS clear though, is that these models all aim to return trust and transparency to the insurance process by creating groups or communities of people that have the same insurance need - this is the common ground amongst all of them and the reason why we have broadened the definition of P2P to include the word 'Community' and why we have invited a cross-section of experts.
